But it was her charming looks that got her popularity among the audience. This popularity paved the way for her entry into TV serials and eventually Bollywood.
Bio – Tia was born on 23 march 1988 and grew up in the city of Lucknow. Having a penchant for singing she forayed into singing from a young age. Sa re ga ma was a great platform for the young talent, soon after which she acted in a couple of serials viz Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan. She played the character of Lakshmi Garodia. In another musical reality show Lux Koun Jitega Bollywood Ka Ticket , she was a contestant and unlike in her previous stint, she emerged a winner .
Her big Bollywood break came as an accident. On a call over a singing assignment, she happened to meet producer- director Vikram Bhat. Having noticed Tia’s attractive looks and vivacious personality, he promptly offered the leading role in the very film for which she was supposed to sing a song. Thus she landed up playing the role of Meera Sabharwal in the film Haunted 3D (2011) which is the first 3D horror film in India.
Her second project was Lanka released in 2011. She played the role of Dr. Anju Khanna. This was followed by another horror flick from the same producers, 1920 : The Evil Returns . This was a sequel to 2008 film 1920 that starred Ada Khan in the lead role. She was cast alongside Aftab Shivadasani and Vidya Maldive.
In a television interview Tia said that playing the role of a possessed person was a tough job. And having played such roles in two films in quick succession was quite a lot of acting lesions for a new comer like her.
Unfortunately for Tia, none of her three Bollywood ventures brought her success. Despite of her films , she is better known for her reality show and finds a place among the audience for her impactful singing.
At present the Lucknow girl is working on a film named Identity card. The film concerns itself with multiple crisis that surrounds the state of Jammu and Kashmir . The actress plays a journalist who is forced to spend a night in police custody over identity issues.
