Tigmanshu Dhulia is a known man in Bollywood, who has tried everything there, right from acting, direction, screen writing and even casting direction. He hails from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh in a family of judge as his father worked in this prestigious position in Allahabad High Court, while her mother was Sankrit professor in the university. He did his schooling from St Joseph, while his college was completed from Anglo Bengali Intermediate College in Allahabad. After his graduation in literature, he went to NSD (national school of drama), New Delhi wherein he did his acting and direction course from 1989. His younger brothers work in Navy and as a judge in Uttrakhand High Court respectively.

Wiki : Tigmanshu Dhulia After his graduation from NSD, he headed to Mumbai wherein he got the chance to work as a casting director in a movie called Bandit Queen (biopic of Phoolan Devi). His next project was Stiff Upper Lips, wherein he played the same role while also got the chance to do a cameo as a stallholder. However, his direction career started with the movie called The Warrior released in 2000 wherein he assisted the director – Asif Kapadia. Later he also assisted the director of Electric Moon called Pradip Krishen and Ketan Mehta for the movie called Sardar. Meanwhile he also worked for TV working on a number of TV serials both before entering into Bollywood and even in the later stage.

If you remember the Sony based channel called Just Mohabbat, he was the man who directed the same. His other work include Ek Sham Ki Mulaqat”, “Hum Saath Saath Hain Kya”, “Fursat Main”, “Musafir”, “Bhawaron Ne Khilaya Phool” and “Anekon Hitler”. His work was applauded by his audience and critics. He then got the chance to direct his first film called Haasil in the year 2003, which is basically a love story based on students politics of Northern India. It turned out a big hit and was applauded by few awards and nominations. His next directorial venture was Charas, while his movie Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster brought applauds for him and his performance.

His next venture was Paan Singh Tomar, starring Irrfan Khan, which even bagged the National Film Award in the best feature film category. His other recent movies include the sequel of Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, Milan Talkies, Bullet Raja, Jai Ramji and Begum Samru. He has the privilege of getting the lifetime membership for the International Film and Television Club of Asian Academy of Film and TV by the president himself. Last year, he did a movie with Kangana Ranaut and Vir Das called Revolver Rani, which was basically a B grade movie, yet was liked by everyone. Currently he is filming Yaara.
