Mandy Takhar is an Indo-British Actress who works mainly in Punjabi films. She was born and brought up in UK and later settled down in Punjabi to pursue a career in films. She is known for her work in Punjabi cinema, Hindi, English and Tamil. Her work in the Punjabi films Mirza fetched many awards and recognition.
Mandy was born on 1 May 1997 in Wolverhampton in the UK. She had her complete schooling there and was very active in sports especially in football. During her high school times, she was the only girl in the Rugby team of boys. She was very physically strong and played many other sports with ease. She grew up as a tom-boy. She has also taken training in martial arts. But her real penchant lied in acting. She studied drama from the Kingston University. Having completed her training she came back to Punjab to pursue a career in the film industry.
Her first break came in the movie Ekam-Son of Soil in the role of Navneeth. Following this she bagged a big budget movie Mirza- The Untold Story. She played the female lead in this legendary love story. She got the nomination for the Best actress in PTC Punjabi films awards. She won the award for Most Prominent & Popular face of youth icon at 6th Punjabi film and music festival. Later in 2016, she won the best actress in supporting role in the film Sardarji.
Mandy’s other works are in Tamil namely Biryani and Kadavul Irukkaan Kumaru. She appeared in small roles in these. Meanwhile she worked in noteworthy films such Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, Ishq Garaari, Munde Kamaal De and Ardas.
