Malavika Avinash is a film and TV actress from South India and also a writer and politician. She hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu where she was born on 28th Jan 1976. She did her schooling from Chennai and then did her LLB from Bangalore University getting the third rank in the university. Her father was a banker and a writer, while her mother is a dancer and vocalist. This gave her the exposure of classical music from the young age and she learned Bharatanatyam and other classical dance. She also performed on a stage that made spot by a Kannada filmmaker Pandit Partho Das. He offered her the film Krishnaavataar in 1988 that made her start on the silver screen. She then did another Kannada movie Nakkala Rajakumari and since then it was no looking back for the actress.
She then did a slew of Kannada and Tamil movies, which include Janam, Kalyanothsava, Samara, Ravitheja, Jay Jay, Aaru, Cyanide, Dishyum, Aathi, Kalvanin Kadhali, Jayamkondaan, and Irandu Mugam to name a few. Some of her recent movies include Myna, Karodpathi, Kalyanamasthu, Adyaksha, Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, Mukunda Murari, and Bairavaa to name a few. She has also remained the part of the small screen and has worked in a number of Kannada and Tamil language TV shows. These include Manvantara, Grihabhanga, Anni, Nilavai Pidippom, and Chidambara Rahasiyam to name a few. Some of her recent TV shows in her career include

She also bagged a number of awards, which include getting the Best Actress award by the state (Tamil Nadu) government, the Kalaimamani award for her contribution in South Indian films, the Aryabhata award, and Kempegowda award. Besides as said earlier, she is also actively involved in dance, she has given her performance in various local and international festivals. She has also become an active politician and has remained the star campaigner for Sushma Swaraj in Bellary in 1999. She has formally joined BJP in 2013 and later was appointed as the co-spokespersons in February 2014.
