Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is a known actress, writer, singer and painter. She was born in Mumbai on 27th November 1975 and was brought up in this city. She hails from a South Indian family but was raised in Mumbai. She did her schooling and college from Mumbai. Soon after competing her studies, she got the chance to do a TV series called Chunauti in the year 1987–88. She then was seen in the musical play called Peanuts: The Musical playing the character called Lucy. During the early days, she also worked as a model working for many brands like Sunrise Coffee, Limca, Colgate, and Clearasil to name a few in the early nineties.
Her first break in B Town happened with SRK film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, which was a big hit. She also did a Malayalam film called Kilukkampetti. At the same time, she pursued her career in music in the late nineties doing a couple of albums including Dum Tara, Dole Dole, Aha and Zindagi to name a few. After a decade, she was seen with Anil Kapoor in 2005 in a film called My Wife’s Murder she got rave reviews for her role. She then was seen in an Indo-US film called Confessions and Holi in the year 2009, however, the film was declared flop at the box office.
She was then seen in Rann in Big B film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Besides, she is also a trained vocalist and has learnt the same for ten years. Moreover, she is also a writer, poet and painter and has exhibited her art in all across the country and the world. She is an accomplished writer and blogger, and her first blog was Intentblog, which had put her in different controversies. Her first novel The Summer of Cool relased in 2009 was among the best seller listin India. She then wrote The Good News Report which was also applauded for the best. She then wrote the series called The Ghost of the Ledge which was released in 2016.
She is also an entrepreneur and has her own company called The Candlelight Company that deals with therapeutic organic candles made for wellness. She is active in social and charity work and has been part of many NGOs and their programs related to various charity work. She will be soon seen in the John Abraham starrer film RAW to be released in the April 2019. She is also linked with stage and had one place called Drama Queen which was applauded all across the country. Talking about her personal life, she was married to filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, but the couple got divorced. The two had a daughter known as Kaveri Kapur.
