Amruta Subhash Amruta Subhash is an actress who is active in TV, theatre and films. She hails from Pune and was born on 13th May 1979 in Pune and was brought up in this place only. She did her schooling from Renuka Swaroop Memorial Girls High School following by her college from SP College Pune. Since she wanted to be an actress and was active in theatres, she headed to Delhi to join National School of Drama. She started her career in acting with theatre when she was in SP College Pune and later got trained under Satyadev Dubey while she was in NSD, Delhi.

Her journey in theatre started with the play called Urvashiam in the yeer 1997 followed by Bela Meri Jaan the next year. Since then it was no looking back for the actress. Some of her plays include House of Bernada, Alba and Mrug Trushna, which she did in Delhi. In Pune she started with Marathi play Tee Fulrani. Later she got the chance to act in Marathi TV shows and films getting supporting and lead roles. She also was trained in classical dance that helped in her career.

Her journey in TV started with the series called Zoka at Zee Marathi and her first film was Shwaas playing the character called Asawari, which was later nominated in Oscars in foreign film category in 2004. Since then it was no looking back for her. Her debut in Bollywood started with the film Chausar followed by Nirmala, Firaq, Valu, Contract, Vihir, Gandha, Haapus, Balak Palak, Chidiya, Killa, Island City, and Raman Raghav to name a few. Some of her recent work includes the Ranveer Singh film Gully Boy, the web series called Selection Day and Sacred Games Season 2 as Kusum Devi.

Talking about awards, she bagged the best actress award for her TV show called Awaghachi Sansaar which was presented by Zee Gaurav. She has also bagged V. Shantaram Award for the film Savalee. She also bagged National Film Award in 2014 for the Best Supporting Actress category for the film Astu and the Crystal Bear award for children’s jury in Generation Kplus section. Talking about her personal life, she is single and lives with her mother Amruta who is an actress. She is also active in social causes and is the brand ambassador for Jagruti by Zee Marathi which is drive by the said channel for the empowerment of Marathi Women.
